Had to go in and reconfigure my BIOS settings again (including RAID) and it booted right up like magic. I got my motherboard for $159 from a company called impact computers. Me personally — I got my XPS on the cheap side through a contact, and do not use it for gaming. I had noticed the fans were louder than normal at times but I thought it was just my imagination. Then it worked fine again for several months and just today I got nothin, tried to boot it up and there was no start up at all, no power, no lights, no nothin. During the past month or so I have also noticed that text on the screen get's thick and kind of blurry near the middle, and also near the right side. It's not the monitor because it's a HD TV that I use for my PS3 and havn't noticed any thick or blurry text when I use that. So, I'm not sure what that problem is. I am a gamer, nothing right now that will require extreme graphics capabilities, but is it worth investing more money in this machine at this point, or should I just buy a cheap comp somewhere and make sure it has a gig or so of ram and a decent graphics card to play? After more extensive troubleshooting, I'm going to try a new power supply. If that doesn't work, time to build a custom PC with non-proprietary parts I can replace without taking out a second mortgage when something goes wrong.
